New Water
We've been helping communities gain first-time access to safe water for more than 25 years. Whether it's from a hand pump, a rain catchment system, a protected spring, or a tap, water changes everything—but water is only the beginning.
We mobilize churches and communities to cultivate sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene programs, and an ongoing witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Time and time again we have seen these lasting benefits pave the way for people to flourish—through good health, improved education, stable livelihoods, and thriving relationships.
More than 25 years ago, we saw the reality of the water crisis for the first time, and we've been inspired to serve the thirsty in Jesus' name ever since. Through God's provision, we've completed over 20,000 water projects serving roughly 5 million people, funded mostly by generous individual supporters just like you!
We've been helping communities gain first-time access to safe water for more than 25 years. Whether it's from a hand pump, a rain catchment system, a protected spring, or a tap, water changes everything—but water is only the beginning.
Clean water has no benefit if it's contaminated after it leaves the pump. Living Water's sanitation and hygiene programs are designed to empower communities as they learn to prevent disease and keep water safe, from the time they collect it until they use it for drinking, cooking, or bathing.
When water systems break down, people are forced to go back to hauling water from contaminated sources. Living Water helps communities restore existing wells that have fallen into disrepair. This is often the most inexpensive per-capita intervention there is.
We mobilize churches and communities to create sustainable water programs; this requires local planning, management, financial investment, and an accessible supply chain. Community involvement, paired with local-government partnerships and collaboration with other non-profits in the sector are all important components of a good sustainability plan. Ensuring that water keeps flowing requires a major investment of time, but it’s worth it.
Recognizing that the physical and spiritual are always intertwined, we strive to faithfully demonstrate and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as we serve alongside church and community members. We build relationships, ask questions, listen, and tell stories in return. In each community, it is our hope to see local churches equipped and motivated to carry on this integral ministry long after we are gone.

Living Water Peru, in partnership with Tommy Head Peru Ministries, works deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest to bring clean water to native tribes living along tributaries of the Amazon River. These communities, forgotten by their government, cannot continue to develop without clean water. In many of these remote areas, the infant mortality rate is 50 percent or higher. The need for sustainable water solutions is desperate, but reaching these areas is often challenging. Getting to the villages, transporting supplies, and other mobilization efforts are risky, difficult, and costly.
