It all started when ... my church played a short promo video for LWI and began discussing a trip to Leon, Nicaragua to drill a well for clean drinking water. I instantly knew this opportunity was for me! I enjoyed getting to know ... Hacknier and the women and children of the Las Chacaras community. We met with them daily, listened to their stories, and played with their children. They opened their homes for us, brought us delicious fruits and vegetables from the village to taste, and showed us the most sincere, genuine LOVE OF CHRIST.
It all started when... I felt a calling to go on a mission trip for the first time in my life. Our church was supposed to go to Haiti but that trip fell through. When I found out it was changed to LWI I knew nothing of the organization. After learning more about LWI, I was notified the trip had been changed to go to El Salvador. I was super excited! It is so awesome what LWI does.
It all started when...my husband was on a LWI repair trip to Cap Haiten, Haiti in January 2010. He was there when earthquake struck Port Au Prince. He could not wait to go back. We went together to El Salvador, Nicaragua, and were on the waiting list for Haiti. While on the trip to Nicaragua, my husband met a great group of men from Texas that he invited to join us on the Haiti trip.
It all started when...someone shared a presentation about LWI 3 years ago. I felt as if it was being given to show me what I was supposed to be doing, serving others. I believe I was directed by the Lord to serve one a trip each year since that presentation. Little did I know that I would receive more than I had given.
It all started when...I felt in my heart this was my time. God was just pressing it on my heart that I needed to go. I enjoyed getting to know...the Living Water Staff and our house guest in Nicaragua A thing that challenged and changed me...The thing that challenged me most was my attitude. Being there taught me just how selfish and self-centered my life has been. It was truly a life changing experience for me and opened my eyes to the needs of others.
