Most Gratifying Event of My Life [El Salvador]

It all started when ...  I was invited to go on this mission by a fellow parisioner from church. I had never been outside of the USA in my 62 years. I had a general idea of what to expect, but what I got was an eye opening life changing event. The people of other cultures are so happy and content with what they have, unlike some cultures that are driven for more and more things.

Thank you, God, for opening my eyes. [Guatemala]

It all started when ... I learned about the need for clean water through Cy-Fair Christian Church's support of LWI and talking with other missionaries. In my meditations, I heard God guiding me to get more involved though I never was able/willing to commit to a trip. After a few false starts and continued prayer for guidance/rationalization, I heard a presentation on clean water at an event where I spoke, which convicted me to truly commit.

The Best Week [Nicaragua]

It all started when ... The concept of bringing safe water and meeting the basic needs of a community is compelling. I have a heart for missions and felt for a long time this was a good place to start. If you can relieve human suffering, in Jesus' name, and you have opportunity, why wouldn't I do that? I enjoyed getting to know ... Everyone involved - my teammates (none of whom I knew personally beforehand), the LWI staff, as well as the kids and community folks.

My Journey to Haiti [Haiti]

It all started when ... The earthquake hit back when I was maybe in high school or middle school my heart broke for the Haitian people. It really broke my heart because some of the people in my family are from Port-a-Prince, Haiti. I never truly prayed about going especially since I was not a Christian and I did not believe that spending thousands of dollars to help some people would make a difference.

Guatemala Trip [Guatemala]

It all started when ... I wanted to do something for others. Experiencing a mission trip was truly an eye opener. I enjoyed getting to know ... It was overwhelming to see such love among people of the village and their children who did not have much, but were very happy. They are rich in God and love and I am thankful for being part of this gift of real love and happiness that I gained from these wonderful people.
