Will Play for Water

Musicians making a difference
Musicians are addressing the water crisis with the belief that all people are entitled to clean drinking water.
There are a billion people around the world desperate for safe, clean water.
“Unlike war and terrorism, the global water crisis does not make media headlines, despite the fact that it claims more lives through disease than any war claims through guns. Unlike natural disasters, it does not rally concerted international action, despite the fact that more people die each year from drinking dirty water than from the world’s hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, and earthquakes combined. This is a silent crisis experienced by the poor, and tolerated by those with the resources, technology, and the political power to end it. Yet this is a crisis that is holding back human progress, consigning large segments of humanity to lives of poverty, vulnerability, and insecurity.”
You may have seen a drifter, poor and hungry who in desperation has scrawled “Will Work for Food” on a piece of cardboard. This man is willing to do anything in his capacity for whoever is willing to give him a bite to eat. We can be the message of desperation for those dying of thirst, the sign-holders for the ones who have no medium of communication.
Our aim is to use music to raise funds for drilling wells in dry communities, giving thirsty families sustainable sources of clean water.
If you have the passion or the means to be directly involved with this effort, whether as a musician, event planner/promoter, venue, college, church, or simply a voice, we would love to hear from you.
