Photo feature: Hope for “the Future”

EL SALVADOR – El Porvenir means “The Future” in Spanish, and one community in rural El Salvador bears that name. It is a village of about 200 people, most of whom work as farmers and live on less than $10 per day. Two Houston-area churches, Pathways Church and Fellowship of Memorial, recently teamed up to drill a well that will serve the people of El Porvenir, along with the community school, which enrolls 230 students from the surrounding area. Community President Jimmy Zepeda told the team, “With this well, I am speechless.”
Among the team members was photographer Natalie Hebert, who documented the experience. Her photos speak for themselves.
