Living Water

LWI Deploying Team to China

A Living Water International fact-finding group recently returned from a two week survey of water needs in China. The group met with government officials, private development agencies, and visited remote areas where clean water is a particularly desperate need. It is estimated that 400 million people–out of China’s 1.3 billion–are without adequate access to safe, clean drinking water. On May 12, shortly after the group’s return, a terrible earthquake struck southwest China. The disaster left at least 70,000 dead or missing and five million homeless, and presents an urgent need and opportunity for LWI to get involved. With relationships and resources already in place, a team is being sent to begin work providing water solutions in quake-affected areas.

Watch this website for more details about the work as it unfolds. This project is above and beyond our normal budget, and we ask you to consider making a special contribution to provide clean water for the communities devastated by this tragedy. Your gift will save lives. Click here to make a donation.
