It all started when ... My wife and I were making wedding plans. We didn't need gifts as we were both previously married and had enough "stuff". We decided to do something for others and asked our guests to make donations to one of two charities, LWI being one of them. The donations received helped send us to do God's work with our hands.
I enjoyed getting to know ... the LWI staff in Guatemala who do this week after week. Working along side the locals and being able to communicate as if no language barrier existed, praying, eating, laughing and playing together.
Things that challenged and changed me ... I saw no challenges, just opportunities to make a change in someone's life forever, to stamp out illness in a few short days, to give a community a cup of clean, healthy water, and memories that will last a lifetime.
I will never forget ... The wedding gift that was presented to my wife and I by the community after they found out how we came to help them, and looking into the eyes of a small child blowing us a kiss and seeing Jesus saying "Thank you"
