Dear friends in Christ,
I love the idea of simplifying the complex. When you think about all that is going on in the world today, it is easy to become anxious—even fearful—about the future.
Our society is filled with many complex issues. Focusing on God, his priorities, and his Kingdom concerns is one way to simplify this complexity of perspective.
God is doing incredible work around the world, but much of his activity is never reported to the masses. It’s impossible to be fully informed about all of the critical issues in every area of the world all of the time. The good news is that the One who has all knowledge indwells us to help in our weakness. We often do not know what to pray for, but the Spirit intercedes for us with unspoken groaning (Romans 8:26).
Think of what things would be like if followers of Christ everywhere readjusted our lives – our whole perspectives—for the sake of advancing the Kingdom of God. Jesus once told a rich man to sell what he had, give it all to the poor, and follow him. While the Lord may or may not be calling people today to sell all they have, he is calling each of us to Biblical stewardship and radical obedience.
Part of our obedience is focused intercession for those in our world who are thirsty, both physically and spiritually. Thank you for being a part of our team as we mobilize prayer for the neediest in our world.
Yours in our risen Lord,
Jerry Wiles

PRAYER REQUESTS
Brazil – Pray that LWI Brazil will be able to acquire another drill rig, and as always, please pray for the safety of our teams as they work and travel in the Amazon Jungle.
Central African Republic – The LWI CAR drill team is currently headed to Kaga Bandoro in the northern part of the country—known to many as a risky area. Please pray for the team as they drill two new wells. Also pray for LWI well repair teams near the border with Chad, where LWI is currently completing maintenance and pump rehabilitation work. Hundreds of wells in that area were sabotaged during the war, and others have simply not been maintained. Over the past two years, LWI has successfully been able to repair nearly 200 wells there. Pray for LWI’s staff in CAR, as five team members have lost family members to disease in the past few months.
Guatemala – Please pray for team unity, as work can become strenuous when new drill team positions are filled. Pray for guidance and wisdom for team leaders and their staff as they continue providing clean water to insolvent communities.
Haiti – Disaster relief efforts continue in Haiti as the team works hard to rehabilitate hurricane damaged wells in the Gonaives area. Pray that God’s hand would remain on this devastated country as healing and restoration take place. Please pray for the political situation in Haiti, as Senate elections are underway. Also pray for LWI Midwest to receive their much needed drill rig so they can continue bringing water and the word to Haiti.
India – The LWI team in North India will be returning to the troubled area of Uttarakhand where they were recently attacked. Pray for safety, wisdom, and success. Also pray for LWI teams as they work in sensitive areas where there is much religious tension and caste discrimination. Pray for the spring awareness campaign as it focuses on the work in India.
Kenya – Continue to pray for discernment and peace in the country. Lift up Mike as he leads LWI drilling and rehabilitation efforts. Pray for the Kenya hospital program and the health and hygiene education team as they continue to bring a clean cup of water in Jesus’ name to thirsty communities in Kenya.
Liberia – Pray for Bob and Alma who are preparing to take on directorship of LWI Liberia, and for Jonathan and John as they are helping with the transition. Pray that God will provide guidance for the team during this time.
Malawi – Pray that God will fulfill LWI equipment needs in Malawi, and pray for health and safety for LWI team members.
Mexico – Praise God for successful work in Puebla. Pray that churches in the US and church families in Puebla maintain strong connections with their sister churches. Pray that God will provide spiritual uplifting and guidance from the Holy Spirit for team members and their families in Mexico. Pray that God will provide a way to reach people on both sides of the borderlands and teach LWI Mexico to counsel people in his ways.
Nigeria – Pray for LWI’s first mission trip to Nigeria. LWI will be equipping a new team to assist rural preachers working in remote parts of Western Nigeria and eventually in Senegal. Continue to pray for good health for Nigeria team members. Pray for strength and fervency to continue walking with the Lord and to be useful witnesses.
Peru – Our friend and LWI Peru director, Tommy Head, recently died in a motorcycle accident. Please pray for his wife, Angela, for his friends and family around the world, and for his teams as they grieve and continue in the ministry that Tommy loved and sacrificed for. Continue to pray for LWI Peru as they witness to communities deep in the Amazon. God is providingopportunities to reach tribes that have very limited contact with the outside world, and is moving in a mighty way among them. Continue to pray for God to provide access into these remote areas of Peru, and please pray for continuing wisdom, strength, and faith for these teams as they provide a cup of clean water in Jesus’ name.
Romania – In order to drill in Romania, LWI must utilize deep well drilling equipment, capable of drilling through consolidated materials. Pray God will relieve limitations on equipment availability, allowing LWI Romania to continue successfully drilling new boreholes throughout the country.
Rwanda – Continue to pray for MacGregor, Ashley, and their family as they raise awareness for the global water crisis. Also, pray for Rwanda’s drill team and the work being funded and implemented in the country.
Sierra Leone – Pray for breakthroughs during an intensive Bible study with the hygiene training team, and praise God for answered prayers. Pray for healing for a team member who has been extremely ill with typhoid. Please pray for peace to prevail in this country, as there has been some political unrest in Freetown. Also, pray for LWI’s Sierra Leone director Robert, who was recently injured.
Sudan – The Sudanese civil war was believed to have subsided, but outbreaks of violence in January devastated the northwestern regions of Darfur. Communities were massacred—it is estimated that 400,000 were killed. More than 2 million remain displaced in the country. Pray for immediate divine intervention in this nightmare. Pray for an end to brutality and hatred in the country and continue to pray for LWI country directors and families who have barely escaped with their lives.
Uganda – Praise God for LWI Uganda team member Peter as he celebrates the arrival of a new son, Phillip. Please continue to pray for directors Beau and Staci, as their family starts a new office in Kampala this year. Pray for the family as they adjust to a new life away from family and friends and embrace those suffering from lack of clean, safe drinking water.
Zambia – Please continue to pray for C.W. and Leslie as they begin working in Zambia. Pray for their safety and encouragement as new works begins in the country.
